I watched a show in the History Channel about the predictions of impending doom in 2012. I was taken aback by the dire predictions and the association with Nostradamus. According to the Mayan calendar, something DRASTIC is supposed to happen – either the end of the world, a spiritual awakening or both. Their calendar just STOPS. Finito! Naturally my interest was piqued and I did some research. The date is December 21, 2012 AD. The problem is that there is zero scientific evidence that anything will happen, but there are numerous things that could easily threaten the human species in the year 2012, such as a geomagnetic reversal, asteroid strike or supernova. Or something more intimate, like a flu pandemic, or a nuclear war.

Wow, this seems pretty serious and it has even inspired a new movie, “2012,” starring John Cusack. I don’t know what to think, but one thing I can say is that some of Nostradamus’ predictions have come true. Remember Y2K? Well, I wonder, could this be the same thing all over again? What say you?
