Baby-Faced Boy Alfie Patten is a Father at Age 13

There is no way on earth that a 13-year old boy should become a father. I also find it unconscionable that Alfie Patten’s parents have allowed him to give interviews. He has, like Octa-Mom Nadya Suleman, become a poster-boy for all the wrong reasons. The child clearly has no idea of how much it costs to purchase diapers, or nappies as the Brits call them, let alone how to be a father. He is a baby himself. He certainly looks like an eight year old and not 13. His girlfriend Chantelle Steadman reportedly gave birth to 7 lb 3oz Maisie Roxanne four days ago. He told how he and Chantelle, 15, decided against an abortion after discovering she was pregnant.

The shy lad, whose voice has not yet broken, said: “I thought it would be good to have a baby. “I didn’t think about how we would afford it. I don’t really get pocket money. My dad sometimes gives me £10.”

Alfie, who is just 4ft tall, added: “When my mum found out, I thought I was going to get in trouble. We wanted to have the baby but were worried how people would react. “I didn’t know what it would be like to be a dad. I will be good, though, and care for it.” Alfie’s dad Dennis told how the lad does not really understand the enormity of his situation — but seemed desperate to be a devoted and responsible father. My oldest son is 11 years old and I can’t even envision he being in such a position at such a young age. This is crazy and I am virtually speechless. This boy does not understand the position he has found himself in. Parents need to talk to their kids about sex at an early age. They both should know what the dangers are in having unprotected sex. This girl is 15 years old and I would have hoped she would know that having unprotected sex could lead to an unwanted pregnancy. There seems to be a free-for-all among some teenagers in England and in some parts of the world. The Times newspaper of London reported that in the past decade more than 40 other boys aged under 14 had fathered children. The UK has the highest teenage pregnancy rate in Western Europe — 385 girls under the age of 14 became pregnant between 1998 and 2007. That’s a real shame.

Former Mets Slugger Alberto Alomar Sued by Ex-Girlfriend Ilya Dall for Having Unprotected Sex Knowing he Had AIDS

Some days I am genuinely amazed at the news. Today is one of those days. The latest dirty laundry to be aired in public comes courtesy of former Mets slugger Roberto Alomar and the revelation that he has full-blown AIDS, but insisted on having unprotected sex with his ex-girlfriend Ilya Dall, 31, who has filed a bombshell $15 million negligence lawsuit.

In papers filed in state and federal court, Dall said Alomar finally got tested in January 2006 while suffering from a cough, fatigue and shingles. “The test results of him being HIV-positive was given to him and the plaintiff on or about Feb.6, ’06” the suit says. Nine days later, the couple went to see a disease specialist who discovered a mass in the retired second baseman’s chest, the court papers say.

Alomar’s skin had turned purple, he was foaming at the mouth and a spinal tap “showed he had full-blown AIDS,” the suit says. Alomar, 41, who quit baseball over health issues in 2005, could not be reached for comment. His lawyer, Charles Bach, would not say whether Alomar is HIV-positive. “We believe this is a totally frivolous lawsuit. These allegations are baseless,” Bach said. “He’s healthy and would like to keep his health status private. We’ll do our talking in court.”

The suit was filed Jan. 30 in Queens Supreme Court. Alomar had it transferred to Brooklyn Federal Court Tuesday. The court papers outline the couple’s relationship, starting in 2002. A month after they began dating, Alomar convinced Dall to have unprotected sex and assured her he was disease-free, the suit alleges.

In 2004, Dall says she noticed cold sores in his mouth. In 2005, after a physical exam ordered by the Tampa Bay Rays, he was diagnosed with thrombocytopenia purpura, a blood disorder sometimes linked to HIV, she claims. The doctor told him to have an HIV test and he refused, she says, stating he had been tested and was AIDS-free.

In April 2005, Alomar told Dall he was suffering from erectile dysfunction and confided “he was raped by two Mexican men after playing a ballgame in New Mexico or a Southwestern state when he was 17,” the suit says. Source: NY Daily News

Personally, I am horrified that someone with HIV-AIDS would knowingly engage in unprotected sexual intercourse with another person. That is criminal behavior and a deliberate disregard for their partner’s well being. I also find it utterly amazing that the defendant’s lawyer dismissed the case as baseless. I cannot believe that this woman would make such a claim based on lies. Either this man is living in denial or he’s just a scumbag. I’ll reserve further judgment until the verdict is delivered in this salacious case.
