Federal Agents Cite Racist Chatter for ‘Higher State of Alert’ in Inauguration

While we worry about Al-Qaida, we should be worrying about the home-grown terrorists in America–the white supremacists who would go to extraordinary lengths to harm Barack Obama just because of the color of his skin. Federal agents are on “a higher state of alert” because of hate talk by white supremacists about Barack Obama’s inauguration.

“That chatter is out there, no doubt about it,” one senior FBI agent in Washington said this afternoon. The Bureau has ordered agents in all 56 field offices to “shake the trees” in advance of the Jan. 20 swearing-in of the 44th President, who will become the first African-American to occupy the Oval Office. “They’re talking to sources to determine if there is any threat information in regard to the Inauguration,” the FBI source said. “Everybody in law enforcement dealing with that particular (white supremacist) ‘clientele’ is on a higher state of alert,” a senior agent at the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives told The News.

The ATF has expertise infiltrating white supremacist groups. A classified threat assessment for the Inauguration by the FBI and Homeland Security Department citing agitated hate groups was sent to police agencies this week. As you recall, during Obama’s campaign, white racists in Colorado and Tennessee were charged in separate plots against the candidate.

A throng estimated between 1.5 and 3 million is expected in Washington D. C. next Tuesday. The historic ceremonies will be the largest National Special Security Event ever. At least 20,000 cops, federal agents and National Guard troops will be deployed.

Rumsfeld signed secret act in 2004 to attack Al Qaeda ANYWHERE: Be concerned, be very concerned

In case you didn’t already know, back in 2004 Rumsfeld basically wrote a blank check for the military to go wherever they want to in order to chase Al Qaeda:

These military raids, typically carried out by Special Operations forces, were authorized by a classified order that Defense Secretary Donald H. Rumsfeld signed in the spring of 2004 with the approval of President Bush, the officials said. The secret order gave the military new authority to attack the Qaeda terrorist network anywhere in the world, and a more sweeping mandate to conduct operations in countries not at war with the United States. Source: New York Times

Basically this is saying that we can attack Al Qaeda in any country wherever they are, without the permission of the country whose border we cross. And we have the nerve to wonder why other countries don’t like America?

Perhaps such a policy would be acceptable if this country had a track record of both reliable intelligence information and proved that it did not abuse it’d position as a world power for financial gain. The fact that this country has such a policy bothers me greatly.

I’m holding my breath until January 20th when the transfer of power is complete. Until this transfer, learning of this policy gives me no comfort, being well aware that it only takes one military action to propel us further into war. The bottom line is that I have little faith in the current administration to exercise sound judgment on anything pertaining to the future of this nation.

God help us!

Rachael Ray’s Scarf Reminds Conservative Critics of Terrorism, Dunkin Donuts Caves, Pull Ad

So, I guess right-wing bloggers and media do have some power after all. It is amazing that people like conservative commentator Michelle Malkin and others were able to get Dunkin Donuts to pull an ad featuring Rachael Ray, yet we cannot make any headway getting people like Liz Trotta, Ann Coulter, Dick Morris and Pat Buchanan fired from the shows they appear on because of the incendiary comments they make.

Dunkin’ Donuts has canceled an online advertisement featuring celebrity chef Rachael Ray after complaints that a scarf she wore in the ad offers symbolic support for terrorism. Dunkin’ Donuts said Wednesday it pulled the ad over the weekend because of what it calls a “misperception” about the scarf that detracted from its original intent to promote its iced coffee. Critics complained that the scarf appeared to be traditional garb worn by Arab men. The ad’s critics say such scarves have come to symbolize Muslim extremism and terrorism.

Okay, so we can go after Dunkin Donuts with so much resolve, but we can’t go after people who make racist comments on television. This leads me to another point, there is definitely a double standard or just blatant hypocrisy in the media when a scarf that symbolizes terrorism in the minds of a few people can create such uproar, but comments about Barack Obama’s assassination fall on deaf ears with many. What message are we sending to people in America and dare I say the world? I didn’t think that all people who wore those scarves were terrorists or sympathizers of Osama Bin Laden. So, what’s next? Traditional African dress, for example, as we have seen when Barack Obama visited Kenya? Or maybe having dreadlocks, could some how become a real problem. Of course, I am being sarcastic. Just my thoughts, you be the judge……
