JURY CLEARS VICTORIA OSTEEN. FLIGHT ATTENDANT WASTED EVERYONE’S TIME. WHO LOOKS ABSOLUTELY STUPID NOW?
I really don’t quite know what to make of this lawsuit involving Victoria Osteen, wife of renowned pastor Joel Osteen, a man who I love to hear preach.But flight attendant Sharon Brown has accused her of committing some very unchristian-like behavior. Mrs. Osteen is accused, in a civil lawsuit, of assaulting the Continental Airlines flight attendant before the start of a 2005 flight from Houston to Vail, Colo.
Brown alleged Victoria Osteen threw her against a bathroom door and elbowed her in the left breast during an outburst over a stain on her first-class seat. The Federal Aviation Administration fined Victoria Osteen $3,000 for interfering with a crew member.
Here’s where I have a problem with Ms.Brown. It seems as though she wants an apology and punitive damages amounting to 10 percent of Victoria Osteen’s net worth as part of her suit. Why the hell do you need 10 percent of this woman’s net worth? This amounts to nothing more than a shake-down to me–in the spirit of our “esteemed” civil rights icon Rev. Jesse Jackson. I am pretty sure this woman will not get 10 percent of Victoria Osteen’s net worth.
I watched a clip of the court appearances of both women yesterday and Ms. Brown was grinning from ear to ear and walking into court with such swagger, that it is quite obvious she’s not the victim she’s trying to make herself out as. It is a shame that we tie the legal system up with frivolous lawsuits such as this. Had this been a poor person, I am pretty sure there would have been no civil lawsuit. This is all about money.
A 12-person jury was seated Wednesday after lawyers spent several hours questioning a pool of 130 people. The questioning touched on religious beliefs, celebrity and the public’s perception of preachers and televangelists. Many of those in the jury pool said they had been to Lakewood Church and acknowledged holding the Osteens in high regard and being star-struck by them.
According to an FAA report, Victoria Osteen pushed and elbowed Brown in an attempt to get to the plane’s cockpit after two other attendants had not cleaned a liquid on her armrest. Brown’s suit claims the flight attendants asked to have Victoria Osteen removed from the plane. Victoria Osteen’s lawyer, Rusty Hardin, said that his client and her family left voluntarily. The incident delayed the flight about 2 1/2 hours.
Brown had previously claimed she was attacked in another incident by an airport employee, according to a deposition she gave in the case. Yes, this is her modus operandi–filing lawsuits.
Get this: According to court documents, Brown claims that she suffers from anxiety and hemorrhoids because of the incident involving Victoria Osteen and said her faith was affected. She is also suing Victoria Osteen for medical expenses for counseling. Again, this is all about shaking-down a rich person. Come on now, I am sure that this sister let a white woman give her a beat-down! Totally ridiculous.
I have been very critical of many pastors, but I have yet to hear any scandals involving Joel Osteen. This, in my opinion, is a waste of time. If Victoria Osteen slapped this woman around, then pay her some money, but certainly not 10 percent of her net worth. Sharon Brown is a gold-digger, looking to score some “big” money. You know what they say about gold-diggers…..
